he used bay's trauma to try to make a name for himself and then when he failed, he then decided he felt bad about it. then he ods on pills so that bay will rush back from china and he can get her back from the other dude she's been living with for several months. what an ass. and of course bay is such a dumbass she falls for his bs.

I disagree.

He didn't use Bay's trauma to make a name for himself. He tried to work through his own heartache and hoped to make a name for himself in the process. Nothing wrong with that.

He didn't fail. His professor was so pleased with his film short that he entered it in several festivals. Emmett was a success. His only failure stems from his depression and that is caused by biological factors. It is beyond his control. If it wasn't for this turn with depression, Emmett would still be out there in LA as successful as he was during his freshman year of college. His only problem is the depression that surfaced his sophomore year.

Emmett did not take pills so that Bay would rush back from China. That's not what happened at all.

By the way, I missed the subtitles in the scene where he's telling them what happened. Can anyone explain? He mixed [drug] with [drug]?
