Just reminded us why it needed to end!
Just 1 ep back and it just reminded me of why it needed to end. The storylines and characters are so convoluted and annoying. There's no joy here, just frustration.
John is as hypocritical as ever, undermining his wife and daughters with his double standard 'Bro' shtick.
How Kathryn even puts up with him is beyond me, honestly. She needs to grow a backbone, put him in line or kick him to the curb.
Regina, urgh she's now a cougar? This is supposed to be empowering is it? How many men has Regina had in a row that have all been utter failures, but now she's hooking up with a kid her daughters ages but they have a "deep connection" and he's totally going to be "the one"... yah right. PUKE.
Why can't Travis still live with Bay and Daphne? It's not like they are all going to be sharing a bed, it seems like a large space with multiple rooms (didn't Regina's last boy-toy live there with his son? So there's definitely at least two bedrooms!) Just drama for dramas sake between the couple. Plus wasn't it assumed they were all living together in China?
Daphne even specifically said at the end to Bay: "I'm gonna miss living with you". And Travis mentioned them living together in China in 'their' apartment with the mural of the cool dragon... So color me confused when suddenly Bay was saying to Travis he couldn't move in now because Daphne needed the space... There's literally no reason (other than a pathetically thin PLOT DEVICE) for why the Trio couldn't continue their arrangements from China in the new place.
Don't get me started on the Emmett thing... We're supposed to feel bad and sorry for him because he's depressed that things didn't go the way he planned? That magically absolves him of any wrong-doing and bad behavior he exhibited in the past, does it?
Also, Him over-dosing under unknown circumstances merits an ex traveling back home thousands of miles and changing their life without knowing the whole story does it?
Just seems strange that there appeared to be no end in sight for their adventures in China, until suddenly Emmett's O'D'd and bang they're back home to stay. Another really strained plot device, which shows why it needed to end.
Also, I thought Bay wasn't sure about her feelings for Travis? Didn't she find his help with the art-show creepy and over the top? Guess he was a good puppy for her to get her ego boost from while she pined away for the *real* love of her life, Emmett. *eyeroll*
All of it is not doing the characters or storylines justice.
Sigh.
Riddle wrapped inside an enigma, wrapped inside a taco.
