It's unfortunate but not unexpected. The forums for many of the more popular shows and the general subject boards have been a literal cesspool of trolling, doxing, porn, fights, and idiocy for years now.

There are boards where you literally can't hold an ON-TOPIC conversation due to the multiple trollers with multiple sock accounts bumping up their idiocy and reply to it and eachother, over and over again.

Trying to block and report someone doing the wrong thing was rarely successful, and so they simply decided to drop it altogether because it would take far too much time, energy and workers to correct what an utter sinking ship the whole thing became.

People just ruin everything. This is why we can't have nice things.

Some of the boards are very nasty

I'm also disappointed. I enjoyed going to my favorite shows pages and reading other people's opinions on the episodes

Me, too.

People can always go to Fan Forum online. Their website has a board for Switched at Birth and many other TV series.

I saw it too!
These boards are the only reason I even use the internet

Read somewhere that IMBD has Facebook and twitter but not checked it out yet- I shall try to get my fill of the MB until it goes.

I didn't hear about this. Then I looked up and saw the message next to 'Important'.

I'm assuming the message boards have been here since IMDB's beginning. I used to visit the boards a lot back in the day, but slowed down to where I barely visited because much of the boards nowadays are just complaints, trolling, fighting, etc. It wasn't fun nor interesting to visit many of them lately just to have to weed past all that stuff and find good topics of discussion.

This is ridiculous. I always would log in just to see the opinions of others, it made the experience fun. Yes, you can do this on twitter but here it can get more detailed/informative. Ugh where will I go now, reddit? :/
