The first 4 seasons, starring Sean Berdy.

Now special guest star with Marlee Matlin.

Quite a demotion and possible hint that Sean won't be in every episode.

I didn't notice that, but I figured it would be heading in that direction after this new episode.

Sean Berdy hasn't been in every episode since the beginning. He even missed an episode during the first 10 episodes of the series run. He missed some episodes in the next 22 episodes of Season 1, as well.

In Season 2, when Bay was dating Ty, Sean Berdy missed several episodes in quick succession.

In Season 3, Sean Berdy missed a number of episodes, and again, some even back-to-back.

And of course, in Season 4, when Emmett was in LA with Skye, Sean Berdy missed a number of episodes. The writers even got creative and had him "texting" Bay so his presence would be felt in the episodes, even though he was nowhere to be seen.

The Sean Berdy Fan Group says that they only know of three more episodes where Emmett will appear, and I would say that's about right. He may be in more, but he will not be in all of them. I doubt if he will be in the next episode, and possibly not the one after it either.

Sean Berdy didn't even have the words "special guest star" in front of his name, as Marlee Matlin does, and his name appeared after her name, although his name should come before her name alphabetically. They should have just listed him at the beginning of the guest stars, and Marlee Matlin should have the "special guest star" privilege all to herself.

Sean Berdy is obviously no longer a series regular. Lizzy Weiss has wanted him fired since the middle of Season 1. She got her wish.

Yes but still treated as a "special guest star". Lucas was the first name and never appeared in ep 1, because he's in England. How many episodes will he be in season 5?

Since his last name begins with the letter "B" and Marlee Matlin's last name begins with the letter "M" then why wasn't Sean Berdy's name listed first, if he is a "special guest star" without the "special guest star" words?

The producers should have listed Berdy's name with the other guest stars, where he would have come first, too.

It's weird to have his name out of alphabetical order, and at the very end, after all of the guest stars and even after Marlee Matlin (who is obviously a special guest star, because the words appear above her name).

Mine says "Lucas Grabeel". I just figured they put whoever's trending at the time...

"When you think of garbage, think of Akeem!"

This is interesting considering he's appeared more this season so far, but still series regular and now top billing star Lucas Grabeel has yet to appear and his character is living in another country. That's pretty messed up right there.
Lizzy Weiss has wanted him fired since the middle of Season 1. She got her wish.

If that's the case then why didn't she have him fired for all of this time? And she didn't really get her wish since we're going to be seeing more of him. He simply got demoted, not removed. What was Lizzy's beef with Sean anyway that she wanted him gone to badly?

reply

Its the last season, so really who cares, none of them have a job on this TV show anymore. they were all demoted!!

It's a weird sag union thing. His price must have went up. If the actor is getting paid less than he usually should... they can't be listed in the credits. The same way Danny devito was listed as a guest star on always sunny for years. I'm not in the biz... so I don't fully understand how it works. But it's not a demotion.

It was in alphabetical order then, that's why Sean was first. That's no longer the case now. I think it's weird they have Lucas Grabeel as the star and so far he's missed two whole episodes. Why even make him still a regular at this point, let alone the TOP BILLING actor here?
