I have always loved the story of The Little Prince and this movie adaptation was beautiful. If they had just converted the story for a movie there wouldn't have been enough to fill the time. The Aviator sharing his story with another child was a great way to convey the true meaning of the tale to both children and adults.

If it was too short for a full-price ticket blockbuster, then they should have left it alone. I disagree, the wrap-around with the little girl was both pedestrian and confusing. Not only did it not help the movie but it just gave the whole thing a sort of Disney feel that is the complete opposite of the book.

Worse, they went for the unequivocal happy ending. Shame.
