Microscope vs. Telescope Comparison

I really enjoyed the ending with the mother and daughter looking through the telescope. It reminded me of the microscope birthday present that she received in her path to become an adult. In a way, adulting requires an inward look into life similar to that of a microscope while a telescope has the outward view of a child. Just got me thinking and would like to hear other thoughts on the comparison.

Thank you for pointing this out. While the movie didn't please everyone, it's clear the filmmakers put a lot of thought into how the story could be presented to a modern audience.

Microscopes are for looking at little things, while telescopes are for looking at BIG things. I'm convinced all of the BIG things in the book transferred very well into this movie, even if some of the smaller details were lost along the way.
