I couldn't bring myself to sit through the entirety of it, had to turn it off. I've heard that this one isn't as bad in the Animal Cruelty/Torture stakes which may be something i can deal with until I pick up the courage to finish melancholie der engel.

No. Melancholie Der Engel was a much longer film whereas this one is short and to the point ad therefore easier to watch. Being a Dora flick, it has some very depraved and sickening scenes in it, but only one and very brief animal cruelty scene. I found Melancholie Der Engel more sickening then this one.

Melancholie Der Engel is more brutal than this one. I didn't like the animal cruelty scenes and a male character suffers a far more horrific death than the female character in this movie and yet that one's only rated R (I believe but I could be wrong).
