Saw an advanced screening last night....

If you loved the book you will love the movie.

Is it a great cinematographic work? Nope. Oscar worthy? Nope.

Is it a lovely story about the joy that dogs bring us? Yep. Do you need to bring an extra large supply of Kleenex? Yep.

I am curious to see what the critics say. Because truth be told I get that it's not a great movie. But it IS a great story. I think that's an important distinction.

If you value your dog as a member of your family you will get it. If you don't? Don't bother to see it.

Thankfully I fall on the side of dog=family.....

GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!

Is it cheesy at all or are the stories actually well done? How would you compare it to Marley and Me?

reply

Totally different. Was not "real life" for the most part. It was from the dog's perspective. So most will say cheesy I guess. I personally WANTED to hear from the dog, so I loved it!!

I think I said before. If I am being honest? Not a great movie. But I LOVED the story.

How sad was it? The end of Marley and Me killed me

I haven't read the book. How many different dog stories are covered in the movie?

What types of breeds did they use? Did they also include mixed breeds?

Does one of the stories involve a Pug (I'm a Pug lover)? Any details about the story?

how was the acting? who gave the stand out performance for you?

POSSIBLE SPOILER:

How are the deaths of the fog handled? I don't know if I could sit through that level of sadness!

reply

*dog, not fog

reply

Most of the deaths were fine, because they moved on to the next story.
