Wouldnt it be great if dome of the reincarnated dog lives turns out to be a living nightmare? The dog could be forced to fight in a dogfighting ring, or have sex with a fat guy in a bestiality movie. Would be a nice way to show that a dogs life hasnt (nor any other living beings life) any purpose/meaning whatsoever.

Top of the food chain and all that stuff. If the movie is anything like the book, Bailey didn't want to be re-born each time and thought he was being punished for being re-born.
