This is easily Wes Anderson's worst movie. The acting is atrocious. The story is pretty dumb. The plotting is crappy. And the weird use of (terrible) CGI is really out of place.
After the display of maturity that was Darjeeling Limited, and the masterpiece Fantastic Mr Fox, Anderson zigged when he should have zagged.
It made more money than both of those films, and is IMDb rated equal or higher than each.

Ratings and financial success don't equal quality.
McDonald's, for example, is a billion-dollar company, with franchises worldwide and devoted customers. But is the food considered good-quality food? Not exactly.
I appreciate the tact you took in your response, but I stand by my statement that on a quality level, Moonrise Kingdom is easily Wes Anderson's worst film of the bunch.
Ratings are a different measure entirely from profits. McDonald's is not rated a Four Star Restaurant.
