Home Movies and language questions (Spoilers)

1. The movie is set in 1974 and I assume that Clive Owen and Billy Crudup are playing close to their real ages (49 and 45). So when Clive Owen is watching home movies of their childhood toward the end of the movie the home movies should be of the late 1930's yet the movies are in color and seem to take place in, at the earliest, the 1950's.

2. What language is Marion Cotillard screaming when she storms into the bar to confront Clive Owen? I know she's French but her character is (I think) Italian.

Good questions.

1 I think it is inferred that both Owen and Crudup are both playing younger than their actual ages perhaps by as much as 10 - 15 years. Frank and Vanessa are supposed to have been an item some time back and she's clearly nowhere near 45. He's never been married. Chris's kids are still relatively young. It's never spelt out in absolutes, but I was thinking of them as being much younger than their real life ages.

2 I thought she was speaking Italian.
