Old man Owen and Mila Kunis - not too ridiculous.

Oh man, what the heII is that about? That didn't look too retarded. They couldn't find two casting options for those two characters that weren't 20 years apart? I realize these age differences happen in real life, but why do they insist on making these distracting casting choices in movies????

In the original film it was much worse! the couple looks like grandfather and granddaughter.

Oh wait, I see it's based on a novel written by French authors. Now I get it - but it's still farking stoopid.

Agreed, I was kinda grossed out...

Few things strike me as more ridiculous than such narrow-minded thinking about ages--see, especially the guy in the thread who was "grossed out" by the age difference.

I friggin hate ageism.

I thought the Clive Owen and Mila Kunis paring was pretty far-fetched, and watching the two kiss was not a pretty sight. It really did seem father-daughter-ish; thank God they didn't show anything beyond kissing:p

Thanks for responding directly to me. Now these sorts of ageist attitudes no longer seem ridiculous and narrow-minded to me.

Gaaah--why are you responding to me with that?

I too wonder why an older man with a young hottie bothers viewers. It is very common.

It's just that it's so common to the point where it's ridiculous---that and the fact that you rarely see older women matched up with hot young dudes in the movies (unless it's an indie one.) Hollywood movies act as if all young women want to go with older dudes, no matter how ratchet the older dude is---that's what I have a problem with. They act as if it could never be the opposite, even though that happen in real life all the time.
