Ok, just finished and was
Pleasantly surprised. I never heard of this movie and found it by accident.
As always, Clive Owen was miscast and I've never liked him even though I love Children of Men. And his NY accent was terrible. However Owen didn't take away from the film for me.
Everyone else though was on their mark with great performances, especially Zoe Saldana. And she's hot as hell!
The movie was well edited, perfectly paced and well blended. It kept me going from one scene to the next and I was glued.
Owen's character did fool me and I liked that. They had us believing that he had a redeeming value to him and that he really wanted to go straight but in reality was nothing but a cold blooded robbering murderer. When he went into the bar I didn't expect that brutal violence from him.
I liked the turmoil going on in Crudup's character, I felt his pain and insecurity. He kept me on edge with his relationship with his brother and I could feel inside me wanting his character to please move on.
I loved the ending, it was the only play Owen's character had left and it worked for me.
Very underrated movie and a great way to kill two hours.
