Mila kuniz wasn't sure how far to take the accent huh?
It kept coming and going. Kinda strange.
shareLoved the movie, but I noticed that as well.
Maybe her small part was a bit above her talent range.

Yeah I noticed Clive's and Marion's accents coming and going before Mila's.
It was a really good cast, but a couple of odd choices to play native New Yorkers IMO.
Couldn't quite figure out what they were going for with Marion Cottilard.
Late on in the movie, however, they chucked in a scene where she's speaking foreign (when she has a row with Frank and is then followed back to the brothel by the police). I wonder whether they'd reviewed earlier footage and felt they needed to do that as opposed to portraying her as a native New Yorker.
Her character is supposed to be Italian, and her Italian lines are actually spot on - her accent just isn't.
I don't know why they didn't make her character French to begin with.
