Who are the bad guys?

Are they bombing Syria and dog fighting F4's with their F22/F35s ?

reply

Or being their usual incompetent selves and bombing allied tanks, as in Gulf 1.

reply

Is there confirmation about any dogfights with enemy aircraft in the movie or is he just training the new recruits?

reply

Last of the dogfighters. Before its all drones.

reply

I'm still mystified how it's not all drones already. Fighter pilots should already be obsolete with the way tech has moved forward. It's gotta be much easier to design an aircraft that doesn't have to keep a meat bag alive just to fly. Same thing with medicine, doctors are becoming a waste of space for the most part.

reply

drones are susceptible to being hacked and their transmission jammed. yes against third world countries its fine, against china and russia nope.

reply

Didn't realize that, thanx. I assumed encryption and shielded electronics were further advance that they apparently are.

reply

Drones are only good against countries with limited defenses and poorly trained military. A first class enemy would be able to shoot drones down as well as jam their controllers.

If anything in this age of high tech warfare the best defence would almost be a very low tech aircraft piloted by men.

reply

Thanks. Although, from your description of the plane best suited, it makes me wonder if the F35 is all that it's sold as. It almost sounds like we need more A10s than anything else for a future war.

reply

The A-10 came about after Vietnam because they found all the fast high tech planes were too much for close air support! So yeah it's a good example and I think if another war broke out against an equally matched opponent you will find older aircraft being taken out of moth balls.
