50 years too late

It's 2011. Do men still come home from work and expect their dinner to be on the table then afterwards be given their pipe and slippers so they can read the newspaper and watch TV while the wife does all the chores and child rearing?

As a working father with a working wife, I can tell you that neither of us had it easier than the other.

If SJP's character has too much do when she comes home, it's her husband's fault. He's home alone all day, so he should be doing the shopping, dropping the kids off and picking them up, taking them to appointments, etc, then when SJP's character comes home, she can help out a bit.

If her husband is so bad, that she STILL has too much to do when she comes home from work, the movie needs to address this.

I sooo agree with both of you. There is no reason that women should work AND do all the house chores. We are in 2011, it's time to see things differently.
And around me, I see couples where both work and share the house chores, couples where both work part time to both have a little time with their kids. I also know fathers who stay at home while their wives work. So, cheer up, change is coming, slowly but surely.

If she has so much to do at home, what is her husband doing? is she married to a guy that just sits at home and still expects his wife to handle all the parenting and chores?
