Empty theater

A first for me. My wife and I went to a noontime showing of this movie at the Village Cinema East in Manhattan. We were the only two in the theater. This has never happened to me before. It was actually cool, I told my wife I had arranged this to be an exclusive showing, that this was her Christmas present. Unfortunately she wasn't buying what I was trying to sell...

We had heard about bad reviews for this movie, and seeing the empty theater, were ready for the worst. We knew nothing about the movie beforehand. Didn't even know it was a remake.

We were very pleasantly surprised. Nicole Kidman usually bores me to tears, but she actually had personality here. The plot was good, we didn't guess the ending till very late on. In general, with all the trash being made these days, this movie was well above the average. Good movie.

I have mixed feelings: I love Nicole and Julia, but only in dramatic flicks like the Pelican Brief. I thought most of the acting was ok, but the story line really threw me for a loop. I thought the perp was creepy, so he did his job.

I paid $7 and it was worth that. Glad you and wifey had the theatre to yourself, that's awesome!!

My theater was actually pretty full. I went on a Sunday afternoon, which isn't typically very full.

I went at 12:30 today and I was the only one in it. I enjoyed having it to myself, and enjoyed the film and the twists. I love Julia. She can make me laugh or cry. She did an amazing job. Sad film.

I was the only one as well. I was surprised, mildly, since this was a new movie with a name cast, but not another soul to be found.
It was just average, nothing enthralling. I could have just as easily missed it and been none the worse for wear.
