Sure, some scenes and lines are meant to be funny, but I was actually surprised that my theater laughed at some of the more serious parts of the film.
I don't think that was intentional. I feel like almost every scene between Claire and Ray got some laughs from the audience, even when they weren't supposed to be there. Kind of odd in tone.

shareThere were many laughs when Julia Roberts first appeared in 2015 in my theater too. She looked like a crazy homeless lady. If she didn't have a great acting and justify her look those people in theater would laugh each time they see her I guess.
