Paranoid

Im sorry if its too rude, but are people in USA are that paranoid after 9/11?

I get it the politicians wants to catch the terorist asap, but to overlook that sadistic crime?

What Ray said was true enough, you dont need Marzin to get the terorist

Firstly, it's not paranoia. Terrorism today is a global threat...daily. That was just the beginning of a new warfare. As for the question of whether a government would do something like that to protect their agenda, absolutely. It's not just the United States...it's global politics. It isn't right, but it's certainly how it is.

Those scenes took place in 2002.

There is no doubt we've seen a huge shift in tone in the American arts since 9/11, and you can see that "paranoia" (I'm not sure I'd call it that, but I get what you're saying) in a lot of the films produced here since. The thing is that it's very subtle in the good films (and American art in general). This film basically beat us over the head with the post-9/11 paranoia, which took all of the steam out of it.

"This life's hard, man, but it's harder if you're stupid!"
