Flashback with Juliana's arm in a sling

Did I miss something in the last episode of season 2? In the flashback scenes where Juliana was sitting on the picnic bench with Ed (the first time they met) and Frank went off to get drinking glasses, why was Juliana's arm in a sling?

reply

Julianna had recently been released from the hospital after getting seriously injured by a moving bus.

Okay, thanks. I must have missed that. Is there any significance to the accident? Just wondering why the writers bothered to put her arm on a sling. Was it something from the original Philip K. Dick novel? Maybe that storyline will be picked up in season 3.

reply

The accident was briefly mentioned in season 1. I believe that what little we learned of it from season 2, it was a suicide attempt during a down point in her life. We don't know a lot.

The important thing is that it was a low point that Frank was very helpful with, getting her back on her feet with confidence, etc.

Hopefully someone who's read the book can tell us if it's mentioned at all in there.

There's no mention of her getting hit by a bus in the book.

I've heard that. There's actually quite a few things that happen in the show that weren't mentioned in the book. Or so I've heard, not having read the book.

Meanwhile, this is a discussion board about the television show.
