Depressing Music

Did anyone else notice how unfittingly depressing the music was in this movie/series? Especially at the very end. This is a fantastic comedy that tries to be too deep at times. At the end I should be left feeling happy and joyful, but instead I feel depressed, not only because Coogan is struggling to become the actor he wants to be, but the music as well. They should've ended it sooner, maybe when Coogan drops Brydon off back at his house.

Some of us enjoy depressing music though.

The music was absolutely spot-on. The Trip wasn't exactly a laugh-a-minute farce, so the sombre tone suited it perfectly.

Perhaps you'd like a redubbed version with Spike Jones and his City Slickers providing the music?

Calvin Candie: You sir are a sore loser
Dr. King Schultz:And you are an abysmal winner

I agree, I love the music and ending-- my favorite part of the film. Very somber.

The music during the final scene in Steve's flat is an arrangement of one of the themes from Gattaca. Funny, because I watched Gattaca for the first time in like 13 years just a few days before seeing The Trip.
