so annoying i walked out

i tried to give it the benefit of the doubt but i thought it was just too annoying for me. i impersonations were good but they just kept going, and going with them, burned me out.

i thinks its the first time i've ever walked out of a theater.

I loved this movie. I did glance at my watch once or twice, but overall it was hilarious. Expectations play a large part in how one reacts to a movie. Did you see a preview? Were you expecting The Road Warrior or Faster and Furiouser? I ask because the trailer I saw did a very good job of presenting what kind of movie this turned out to be. Had I not seen it first I may have been surprised.

I didn't walk out but it annoyed me too. I agree with you. One can only hear a Michael Caine impersonation so many times.

And if this person even heard about it, I'm sure they knew what they were getting into. That's not the point.

Yes, the film did get repetitive. Probably worked better as a TV series.

I can see that ... I just held on and watched the whole thing ... I ended up really liking it.
The subtext was what is going on with the two guys and why Steve was so competitive
and nasty. I liked it because I thought it was realistic. A lot of my best friends are always
doing stuff like that and I don't like it, so I guess per this movie I just have to ignore it,
and maybe do a Michael Caine or Woody Allen impression! ;-)

It's about identity, who you are. The imitations are just part of that theme.

I saw the movie version on a flight from Melbourne to Singapore and it made a tedious flight zip by.

As other's have said, the movie is painfully repetitive. I got through it but it felt more like a chore than anything else. Probably works well enough as a TV show but 2 hours straight of this is borderline unbearable.

Same experience - I watched this at home and I rarely stop a movie before the end, but I stopped this about 3/4 of the way through when it became apparent nothing was going to happen.

I did not finish it. Found the main character annoying. He invites a friend along then spends the trip being rude to him. Not much into gourmet food but did find the countryside shots interesting. The impersonations were good also. It came down to did I want to go on a road trip with the main character and the answer was no.
