Trollhead Bridge and Why No Helmet Issues

Love the series and it's a shame Anton died in that freak auto accident so he won't be around to voice Jim's character when season 2 is worked on. Hopefully they casting director finds someone with a very similar voice.

I'm up to episode 15 (Mudslinging) as of this post. One of the big issues that bugs me is the whole trollhead bridge backstory and keeping the chunks of it. It doesn't make a bit of sense that it was broken up in the distant past and the pieces scattered around Europe. This just made it easy to eventually find and reassemble by the bad guys. For those that have possibly read Guillermo's books, is there any indication as to why the trolls didn't just crush the bridge blocks into powder and cast the dust to the wind? Doing this would have permanently made it impossible to ever open the Darklands. Keeping the blocks indicates that, even though they never want to go into that dark realm again, they strangely still want the option available, which totally conflicts with the trolls desire to keep that parallel universe from every seeing the light of day.

Second thing that continual bugs me is Jim's armor. The previous troll hunters all had protective helmets. Why doesn't the suit create one for Jim? It isn't due to his human physiology since the armor altered shape to fit him. His head is totally vulnerable against any and all attacks, and I'm actually surprised it hasn't been cracked wide open during all the concussive battles he has been through up to episode 15. In short, he is metaphorically riding a motorcycle without a helmet, constantly getting into crashes and, just by pure chance, coming out of them without a serious head injury or death. Not logical. I certainly hope his suit spawns a helmet later.

Agree, he should be wearing a helmet for a warrior purposes and since its a kids cartoon he should be wearing a helmet to send the correct message to kids.

But as I see it, the Trollhunter is the very balance between good and evil. I dont think he really can favor one or another, unless the other (evil side in this instance) is interfering with the balance.

And he really needed the gate to go into the dark lands and do some stuff :)

The helmet-thing was bugging me too, but I think too much of our hero would be obscured and thus removing the clarity of his facial expressions. Trolls can have helmets since their eyes and mouths are larger.

They can always find other ways into the Darklands. The gate isn't necessary. As for the helmet, you must thing I mean a full head one with face mask. I meant like the other trollhunter ghosts. They all have open-face helmets with two horns on the top. So, Jim's suit should create the same for him.

I totally agree. I did my homework and they did have helmets. So yeah, maybe they are saving it as a powerup in season 2.

Well, I thought that by the end of the season, Jim would have obtained a helmet since each crystal put into the amulet gave him new weapons and armor (daggers and a shield), but still no helmet. Doesn't make sense.
