any connections to the other movies?

Characters from the previous stories returning, locations revisited, Bruce Payne as an unkillable wizard, anything like that? Any impressive monsters encountered in this one?

Asides from being set in the same world, there's no connection between this and the other two movies.

Not even. This is set in Karkoth, the first two were in Izmir. Could be different kingdoms I suppose, but it more looks like they abandoned all links.

It's set in the same world and remains true to Courtney Solomon's original theme of a world where Clerics have not existed for some time. In the second movie it seemed like they'd restored the gods to the world, but in the third movie we discover that it's not really the case. The Paladins of Pelor have been waiting for 800 years for one of their brethren to be anointed as a true Paladin once again. When their most virtuous new recruit is not, he begins to despair, and it sends him on a dark path to save his father.

Unfortunately, the movie fails to recognize that redemption takes more than a riveting speech and an attempt to save an old man.
