Agreed. I had so many problems with this film despite having very low expectations and just wanting a little popcorn entertainment. I can suspend belief for a movie, but the fact that most of the people in the movie never even attempted to call anyone on their phone and that 911 wasn't involved for a longer period of time really bothered me. Also, the building may be evacuated, but a bomb crew should have been present, so each time the doors were slid open a rescue crew should be waiting. This wouldn't have necessarily meant "well there would be no more movie then because it would end" either. I could have accepted a ridiculously long rescue or complications, but a 911 call apparently just being dropped when they hear a woman died on an elevator, mentioned a bomb, and there are 8 other people aboard? Too cheezy.
