le gasp!!*** SPOILERS!!!***

I get it now!! I totally get it!! It all makes complete sense!! Okay okay- you know at the very end, the old guy, he was the only one who volunteered to go through with the actual deed, to accept the actual awful reality of it. The comic thought of it, and he was willing to give it a go, but he couldn't in the end, and the others said they couldn't straight out, but the old guy was the only one who volunteered, he was the only one who could see himself doing that, for whatever reason (I can think of so many but lol, we'd be here all day). He was the only one who could imagine living with himself afterwards. Which mirrored the whole financial scam thing- the other bank guys, they were his workers true, there were all in on it, but in the end they were all horrified by him, they knew what they were doing (or came to know) was wrong and they were ashamed of themselves!! They felt bad, especially when they saw the real proof of their work/scam with the poor old pyscho lady, they felt guilty. But the old guy, and his grandaughter (oh god, I hated her so much!!!) they could live with themselves, they had no problem sleeping at night and he was willing, both literally and metaphorically, to get ''blood on his hands.''!!! And maybe that is the whole point, the whole critique of the old guy, and all these financial big deal scam artists (I have no idea what to call them but you know what I mean- the guys who are respected businessmen but who make their money ripping off little old ladies savings, doing complicated useless things on the stockmarket and treating other people like *beep* Lol, you know, those guys). Maybe we, as a society, actually need them. When it's all said and done, when it comes down to survival, we need these guys, these bastards who are not only willing to get their hands bloody, but who can lead other men into survival too. And the old lady, the old lady's husband, all of that is just the price we have to pay.....Lol, oh wow, okay, I just tripped myself out. That was so brilliant!! See, it all fits together!! And in case you can't tell, I freakin loved this movie. I thought it was gonna be just like ''Devil'' and I was so so soooo happy when it wasn't. It was more like ''Lord of the Flies'''...on acid...in an elevator. More people need to see this movie!!!

You've nailed it for the first two thirds of your post :) The selfish cut-throat banker millionaire was the only one heartless enough to be able to cut up the woman.

But I disagree that we need those type of people to lead us. Maybe we think we need those type of people - maybe that's what they want us to think so they can still remain in positions of power and influence.

You say we need those people to lead us out of certain situations. But, think about it, if it wasn't for Henry that situation would never have existed. If he wasn't so driven by greed he never would have got his employees to push the bad investment, the lady's husband wouldn't have lost all his money and killed himself and the woman wouldn't have gone to the party with a bomb.

If you think even deeper into it, if it wasn't for George W Bush leading the US into war with Iraq for reasons of greed - to get their hands on Iraq's oil - the woman's son would never have got killed fighting an illegal war and, again her husband would've been a lot less likely to kill himself.

Great post by the way. Glad the film worked for you.
