Seems like it would have been quite an easy escape, no?

Now, I'm not an elevator expert. I'm just some idiot watching a random film in the middle of the day. With that said, I'm fairly sure that elevators have trap doors for firemen to rescue people, and probably for engineers to use sometimes to work on the top of them (safer than going down the shaft no doubt). This took place in the US and not a third world country with no safety standards, I see no reason for there to be no trap door.

So with all this said, if you remember the first time they pried the doors open it zoomed out showing the top of the elevator and about a 6ft gap. They could have searched BETTER (I'm aware that the one guy took a quick peak before determining "it's just lights") to find the trap door and then climb up and walk to safety.

With this said, I found the film an ok watch. Nothing special, nothing fantastic. It passed a couple hours though and I didn't feel like turning it off half way so that's good enough for me.
