I watched this today, and I feel very sad for Danny Lutz. He is obviously damaged, both mentally by his upbringing, and physically by years of substance abuse. That he felt it necessary to go public in some desperate plea for attention or money really saddens me. I can understand trying to capitalize on the one thing your family is known for, but, come on, Danny, this story is an acknowledged hoax.
I just feel really sorry that Danny has had to live with these demons -- the made-up story and the awful family situation -- his entire life. Be well, Danny.
The story written by Jay Anson was a fiction. But Daniel and Christopher Lutz agree the house was haunted.

Bet he plays better guitar than you drama queen. I like his cars and he owns a perfectly fine house. Not bad for a "damaged" person, and he doesn't need your sympathy.
His compensation was well under $100,000, but this story inspired his brother to open up with his account of what happened. Maybe you should update your information instead of quoting a crooked author, lawyer and few tabloids.

@Kurt-2000. Out of curiosity, are you Danny Lutz? The way you so passionately defend such an unlikable d----e suggests that you're either him or a close relative or friend. However I get the impression that Danny Lutz doesn't have many close relatives or friends so I guess you really are him. Hey Danny! Your movie kinda sucked. Sorry.
No Ace, I'm not Danny Lutz. What I passionately defend is the premise that this Amityville story was hijacked the day Jay wrote a false story, and the tabloid press put so much effort in false stories to force people into believing that no haunting occurred after the film was shown. I also find it interesting that Danny's brother Christopher Lutz also has stated that the house was haunted.
So Ace, you need to resort to accusing me of being a family member in order for me to have an open mind to this story, not to mention your strange desire to resort to insults. Hey Ace! Your tantrum comment kinda sucked. You're welcome.
It's only acknowledged as a hoax by people who don't want to believe that there are forces out there that science can't explain. The greatest deception the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he doesn't exist.
