Owen/Caitlin love story not believable

The whole Owen/Caitlin love interest was not believable at all. No chemistry, no physical match. I applaud the producer's decision to not make Caitlin a clichéd blonde beach babe, but I think they went too far the other way. That woman was pure man repellant.

Dude... it's Maya Rudolph... Plus, look at Sam Rockwell... He was WOMAN REPELLANT (not really in looks per se, but in attitude)... I think they made a point of putting 2 unlikely people together for the sheer comedy factor... Who cares if it was "believable?"

Right now, we are alive... And in this moment, I swear... We are infinite.

Did we really see enough of them together onscreen to fully determine that it was unbelievable ? It seems to me they were only onscreen together for a couple minutes.

reply

I thought they were cute together so cute!

reply

No. Maya Rudolph is not attractive.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

reply

No what? I didn't talk about anybody being attractive or unattractive, this was a personal opinion response. Your reply is fine but take your "NO" out of it because your opinion isn't worth more than mine and my answer isn't wrong. I liked the way they looked at each other and their smiles at one another that's why I said I thought they were cute.

I worked on a pier at a bar for 10 years where we had a lot of guys and a few girls who worked on be boats there would come in after work and drink. This movie totally took me back to those days! This is EXACTLY how it is when you have one girl working with a ton of guys no matter what she looks like! It's an innocent, flirty friendship that may never go anywhere but it's that common bond of working together that makes you feel close to that person. It was so well written! That was Owens girl! He loved her in a friend way and it was beautifully written

If the attraction were a recent development I could buy the argument that perhaps Rockwell's character wouldn't have been so into her, but by this point he'd known her long enough that looks would be less important than who she was, and that seems to be why he was so into her.
