Let's Clear This Up!

In the "Goof" section there's an entry called "Errors Made by Characters,"and this is what it states:

"After the fight over the board game, Pam gets up and says she's going to set the table for lunch, but it is almost dark outside so that would be dinner."

I have to disagree here. If you recall when Steve Carell's character is looking in the newspaper he says to Pam,"Alright there's 1:30 and a 3:30,we can see one of those."
I believe that was the line. So when Pam's character gets up and decides to go make lunch this is absolutely appropriate. It is the afternoon. The time slots that he suggested is in the afternoon. The reason it is semi -dark out is because there is a rain storm going on. Moment before this all takes place they show outside shots of the rain on the water and on the covered car outside. You even see the rain and overcast atmosphere as Pam walks by the front door. So I'm sorry to whomever wrote down that "Goof,"because it's not a goof at all.

I agree with you. Even if I have my blinds shut during the middle of the day I can often tell if there's a rainstorm because of the lack of light coming through the window. It's annoying how often "goofs" aren't really goofs at all.

If you want to and you have a browser that will allow it, you can click the "edit page" button at the bottom of the main page for The Way Way Back. There's a section called "incorrectly regarded as goofs" or something like that and you can point out that the dialogue about movie times shows it's still early enough in the day to have lunch.

Mag, Darling, you're being a bore.
