homoeroticism anyone?

Did anyone notice a homoerotic subtlety between Duncan and Owen? I first took note from the first exchange of glances they had in the car. But, being this a movie from the United States I knew the relationship wouldn't be developed, maybe if it was an European movie.......

Actually yes, except -- which the dweebs here are clueless about -- homoerotic isn't the same as homosexual. Homoeroticism exists naturally among adolosecent and young adult males. For people in that age range it's an explosion of sensation. It has nothing to do with being gay or straight, it's just hormones. And it has nothing to do with overt sex. It's about bonding and, yes, mutual attraction. And the homoeroticism in the movie wasn't that subtle, nor was it sordid, despite what the hysterics want to make it.

reply

Actually no.

[Merriam Webster] homoerotic. adj.: marked by, revealing, or portraying homosexual desire

And no, there was nothing implied or otherwise about their relationship that was about sex or hormones. Get your mind out of your pants. Geez.

Don't embarrass yourself by acting like you are SAMRTER than anyone else..unless you are n a garden slug colony. There was nothing even remotely homoerotic...buy ANY (valid) definition of the word.

reply

Funny!!! "SAMRTER"!!! "Buy ANY (valid) definition..."!!! It takes NO effort to be smarter than a pathetic semi-literate queen like you. You embarrass yourself by existing.

I love how on every single messageboard regarding a movie that contains a friendship between two guys you find a post like this by an insecure american. Don't worry gab-casnu, it's okay to be gay.

reply

What you are observing in yourself is a side-effect of American brain conditioning, which involved using the concept of homosexuality on order to marginalize the concept of ordinary friendship. It is a rather well-researched subject actually. The US regime considered normal human relationships, especially the ones involving strong emotional background (including, but not limited to love or friendship) as extremely dangerous for the regime's own survival. For this reason such normal human expressions as friendship were actively eradicated in people trapped inside the US propaganda dome. The attack on friendship, for example, was constructed around active portrayal of ordinary human friendship as a form of homosexuality. (As an interesting side note, many researchers also point out that the attack on classic "romantic" love between a man and a woman was also designed around presenting it as something "gay".)

This mental setup, uploaded into your head by your handlers is exactly what makes you perceive homosexuality in the relationship of Owen and Duncan, while in reality there's absolutely none.

reply

No.

I think Owen could tell that this was upset, and he was doing his best to cheer him up.

wow, gab ... you like seeing a couple of guys gettin' jiggy? Why is everything tied to homosexuality with you Europeans?

reply

No, but it does make me wonder about your sexuality. Maybe it is time for you to come out of the closet.

reply

No way man, why would you perceive that? I would have hated the movie if it was for real like that, not because of the age difference or homosexuality, because I just hate love movies and believe me I would have noticed any smidgen of it if it was there.

The relationship was friendly one with Owen being a certain fatherly figure with lots of friend elements.
