Sam Rockwell Saves this movie.

I can't accurately explain how meh the first 30 minutes of this film is. It's average and cliche to the point your cheeks hurt from cringing. The performances are dull, with the exception of Carell the douche Step-father (everything down to the *beep* goatee is perfect for him).

Even if you take a 30 min crap and miss the first part , make sure you watch every scene after Rockwell's appearance. He symbolizes all that is good in this movie.

Watch it for Water Wizz, wait for Pop N Lock, and you'll see why it's a great, new coming of age story.

It's what Adventure Land and Youth in Revolt should have been.

Always liked Sam and he is special in this flik.
Humor in the face of the mundance and banal.
Plus its 180 degrees from his lead role the same year in "A Single Shot".

I'd never heard of it before TV, but it was strong and he was a terrific lead.
He is on my Stanley Tucci list of actors who can be complete shape shifters.
