Wanted to like it, hated it. (And I like most movies)

I was close to buying this movie on Amazon but then it came out on Netflix and it saved a waste of 7$!
I expected a feel-good summer movie that would just make us smile but instead got feel-bad boring drama. Every single adult character of the movie annoyed me except Rockwell's. I did not feel anything for the mainshy teen boy And it took 50 minutes before the movie picked up and me and my wife looked at each other and said "finally some energy!" . But then that energy was used in some waterslides scenes with girls in bikinis that we're not really funny and it came back to the boring drama pretty quick. 1h15 into the movie my wife was on her tablet so I said "funk that, Im'a play me some NHL 17."
I might finish it someday because there's not even half an hour left. 4/10
