Witch Hazel is now a Person of Color?!?
That's taking political correctness and demographic representation a bit too far. Besides Looney Tunes already had a Black character -- Daffy! ;)

shareUh, Witch LEZAH as she is now technically isn't black - she's green.
shareI dont like her. Aside from the change in voice, shes also too serious now. Shes nothing like witch hazel. If they wanted a new character they should have just made a new character
shareI kind of like it. it adds a new level of culture, and helps to sepreate the character from the Disney Witch Hazel.

Um, how do you figure she's now considered a "person of color?" Unless green falls into that category, but she's always been green, so...

But she has the voice and personality of a "sistah" with "'tude".
;)
Is THAT what's bothering you? That she's now voiced by a black actress and is being written to have 'sass?' So what? Nowhere has her character ever been identified as now being a person of color (and even if she were, I don't see what it hurts). 'Sistah with a tude?' Really?! Wow, just wow. The nerve of this show to dare do that...

The characterization is totally apocryphal to June Foray's original portrayals. How would you feel if they did that to Bugs or Daffy? ;)
shareI agree, and it doesn't in any way have to do with race. It's just that they completely destroyed the original characterization. She was supposed to be like the typical Halloween witch. They took that away, they took away her craziness. The character is now a mockery.

I'm black and thought the new characterization for Witch Hazel/Lezah was one of the biggest letdowns of the show. She was one of the characters they really screwed up aside from Bugs, Daffy, Speedy, and Lola.
shareI couldn't agree more, on all those characters. I would add Gossamer to the list too, myself.

Sorry for the late reply.
I agree about Gossamer. It's sad that the only character on the show whose personality and characterization was left intact was Yosemite Sam while everyone else were basically crappy imposters.
yes. she's green.
but I was totally bummed because she's a completely different character now.. I adored how she was before- it was PERFECT!
I hate her new voice, I like her old voice from the 50's and 60's Bugs Bunny cartoons better.
