did what she did. Kody shut her down about doing invitro fertilization so harshly and that was that! Then Robyn has ANOTHER baby. Why is it ok for her to keep having babies but Kody won't entertain the idea to do that for Meri?? I mean no wonder she looked to find someone to show her attention. Kody totally favors Robyn more than any of the other wives now, you can see it!
I wouldn't mind living a plural marriage but i would insist if he had another wife in the marriage that I have another husband as well. It's no fair he gets to screw another wife and I'm stuck with just him. That's the only thing I don't get about it all. It just doesn't seem fair at all that way. I wouldn't be jealous, I'd just be pissed he got more and I didn't.

No, Kody never told Meri they couldn't have more kids. He said he would support her if she wanted invitro or using Robyn as a surrogate. Somehow Meri twisted that in her head to mean no. That baby storyline was so drawn out, I honestly don't think she really wanted a baby.

She didn't want a baby. First, that storyline was so unrealistic, it was almost ridiculous to me. Why they kept it going I don't know.

Polygamy is part of their religion. You can't judge their lifestyle by our standards. Meri didn't want another baby. That was the biggest fake storyline they've had on the show.

Then why did she seem so excited about doing it and the only said she didn't want anymore kids after Kody said no. She seriously looked deflated and defeated after he nipped it in the bud.

I'm not judging their religion, I was saying me personally. I think Meri is just extremely lonely. Everyone can see Kody favors Robyn more so you have to think she might feel useless and left out.

Sadly, it's the way of polygamy. I think Meri really had buyers remorse when she facilitated bringing Robyn into the family and let her feelings & jealousy eat away at her & when Mariah went to school, it got worse.

In season 2 Meri and Kody talked about having another child and Meri told Kody she didn't want one. I guess they think we forget what they've already shown.

But maybe she changed her mind once Robyn started having babies and Mariah went to college. I just feel bad for Meri, she seems so sad and lonely.

Meri didn't want any more kids- that was a ratings ploy. I have empathy for Meri and how lonely and disconnected she felt, but, seeking intimacy outside her marriage was wrong. She should have either mended her relationship with Kody or left.

I know it's her religion but it must be hard knowing your husband is boning all those other women and you aren't allowed to because of that crazy religion. I swear it's such a "man's religion, I mean cause they can have multiple spouses but women can't. No woman would create that LOL.

I know Meri said she didn't want more kids before, so many replies saying this on this thread. You do understand though, we all can change our minds. I swore after my second marriage fell apart that I would NEVER EVER get married again. I mean I would argue with people about it. Then I met my 3rd husband, LOL. Never say never or that you don't want or won't do something. I honestly think Meri changed her mind and legitimately was excited about wanting to try invitro. When Kody made the decision for them and she agreed, it honestly looked to me like she was deflated. Like he just popped her balloon of happiness. Of course she went along, she always does. She's the first wife, she's always had to go along and just settle.
Meri just looks so depressed and lonely. She has absolute sadness you can see in her eyes. I seriously feel sorry for her.

I disagree. I don't think Meri changed her mind at all about wanting a baby. No I don't feel like she had to just "go along". She was very bossy and the others did what she said for a long time. She isn't some quiet wallflower that doesn't voice her opinion. Meri herself has admitted she can be overpowering at times.

She's bossy sometimes but on that episode she wasn't. Several of my friends and I discussed it right after it aired and talked about it all. Meri LET herself be handled by Kody. HE made the decision and she just said ok. She didn't even argue with him. Then she just looked like she was going to cry. People are totally hard on Meri on these boards. I don't think Meri is as hard as you guys think she is. She can be soft at times.

Considering all the facts, I have to say Meri really didn't want another child. I would list all the facts but I think we know what they are, except I will mention one which is her age.

I'm not sure Meri wanted another baby as much as she wanted Kody to beg her to have one. I don't think he had the energy to play that game anymore so he shut her down. If that makes sense....

Bottom line, whatever the reason, since the show started Meri has changed. I remember her as being the cute strong matriarch of the family and now she's a whiny sniveling, not cute victim.
