Meri and the catfisher

One thing I find interesting is that neither Meri or Cody is willing to own that Meri cheated, at least emotionally. Since they never met, and it was not actually a man, that means she didn't actually cheat. The thing is, she did cheat. She thought she was talking to a man, was in love with "him" and made plans to meet him. Purely accidental that the meeting never happened. Until they are both willing to deal with this they will never be able to resolve their issues.

I am not even criticizing Meri. I think she is in a very bad place, feels very isolated and unsupported and resorted to getting the validation she needed from strangers online. Very sad.

I think they have both admitted she emotionally cheated. Maybe it's the code wording they're using for TV. I think that's why they need a counselor to translate.

If they have then I haven't heard it. She usually refers to "this person" and he waves it off as a flirtation. Maybe I missed something.

I agre with you. I also agree with everything Mariah said last week, particularly the part about Meri leaving Kody if this had been a real man. I think Meri was in a bad place when the catfisher contacted her, and she's in a worse place now because he wasn't a real man who could get her out of her unhappy situation. It's all very sad really.
