Tony/Mykelti announce their engagement clip

http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/sister-wives/videos/the-wedding-showdown/

Yes, I know and realize this was months ago and that, I believe, they are getting married this weekend. I found it funny how this is playing out on the show and how adamantly Kody, Christine, Meri, Janelle and Robyn are against it. Like a lot here have been saying they HAD to have realized having all these kids that they would have weddings close together.

Observation from that promo:

1. Tony is a slob

2. Mykelti is obtuse or all the other things people have said - immature, inconsiderate & competing with Maddie.

3. WTH Why does Robyn have to nurse right when they're filming? Is she missing all the attention?

I think the wedding is next Saturday & Janelle really nailed the reason for them to wait. I bet that did have an impact on Mykelti.

reply

I'm going to answer #3. Yes, Yes, and Yes.

reply

Yeah even though she was covered up she could have left the room to do that. She can breastfeed all she wants....more power to her.....but she don't need to do it for the whole world to see.

reply

She needed to be in that scene since all the parents were talking to Mykelti & Tony about them getting married, but she knew they were filming & she could have fed the baby before or after. It lasted about 5 minutes, but she HAD to feed the baby at that moment.

reply

She is feeding her baby. Get over it.

reply

Well they go from Robin breastfeeding to Meri holding the baby then back to Robin breastfeeding again. So how many times did they film that???

reply

I noticed that & I couldn't figure out what the sequence was, but that makes it seem like they have 'takes' just like a regular show. How disappointing that the show is so fake.

reply

Noticed that too and it's obvious that was edited together. I wonder how long it took to film it. Point is Robyn could have waited on doing that instead of trying to take the moment away.

reply

Seriously you guys?!? Who gives a sh*t if she was nursing, she was fully covered.

Kind of grasping at straws of stuff to b*tch about I think.

reply

I agree about the breastfeeding. Its like that joke about hating someone so much, they can do anything and it'll annoy the crap out of you. In this case, Robyn is the "b-tch eating chicken."

Maybe Ariella was going through a growth spurt and was cluster feeding. Maybe she wasn't feeling well and just wanted to comfort nurse. Whatever the reason, it really doesn't matter. She did her job as a mom and fed/comforted her baby. I know that as a whole, most of us dislike Robyn, but sometimes she does regular things and gets attacked for being an attention whore, like being pregnant and wanting to vomit at the sight/smell of the fish in the last season. I don't care much for her histrionics, or attempts to erase her ex from her eldest 3 kids live's, but I guess I can relate to her more since I was pregnant at a similar time and am currently breastfeeding my little guy.

reply

I guess some missed the part where I said she can breastfeed all she wants--more power to her. There just wasn't a need (in this particular situation)--covered or not--for her to do that in front of the cameras. My point was it took away from Mykelti and Tony's moment of announcing their engagement. Perhaps Mykelti and Tony should have waited on Robyn to finish since it's obvious the producers wanted the whole gang there for the "shock factor" of them announcing their engagement.

reply

I don't think it takes away from their moment at all. It's inconsequential unless you're looking for something to bash her for.

reply

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but it's just that. Your opinion. I didn't say what I did to bash anybody and I explained my reasoning.

reply

What is the reasoning behind being oddly offended over a mother feeding her baby?

reply

I'm done debating this. If you can't read what I wrote and make sense of it that's on you.

reply

You basically just wrote that it distracted you. So apparently you find it super distracting and something a woman needs to hide if at all possible, behind closed doors, while their alone maybe? lol! I agree Robyn likes attention but I doubt she thinks of her feeding her baby while completely covered as something that would get her attention from anyone. It takes all kinds I guess.

reply

I guess at this point in my life I didn't find the nursing itself that strange, but it was the constant interruptions that was strange.

-She came through the door nursing the baby
-She is seen sitting nursing the baby
-Meri is holding the baby
-Robyn is again nursing the baby

I am with you, how long did it take to film that scene?

I know from second hand experience (from the standpoint of the non-nursing parent and grandparent) that if you want to piss off a baby, interrupt them in the middle of feeding.

But maybe now we know why Solomon had rotten teeth. She just wanders around all day long with her babies permanently attached to her breast.

reply

I admit I know absolutely nothing about this subject. I know it must sound odd, but no one I knew or know breastfed their kids. Having said that I still stand by my opinion that they don't film on the fly. I guess it could have taken them hours to film that scene which is really disappointing, but I know Robyn got a lot of attention when it really wasn't about her.

reply

I get so distracted when they all sit on the sofa's together. The strange faces they make when someone else is talking, the weird belly bulges Meri, Christine, and Janelle have that protrude more than their boobs, body language, etc.
Now I have to go back and actually listen to what they were saying....

reply

Kody also has belly bulge protruding past his boobs now
