Robyn = homewrecker

So, when Meri and Kody talked about having another child, Kody specifically said that at this point, he DOES NOT WANT to have another child with her. Probably would mean to have sex with her, I guess... I mean, come on, he couldn't wait to knock up Robyn once more. I am currently at Season 6 and not sure what else will happen, but it is heartbreaking to watch this snake Robyn destroy this family.

Meri didn't want another child. If you've been binging you might have missed season 2 where Meri told Kody she didn't want any more children. Meri having a baby was a storyline for the show. Having said that, yes Robyn has changed the dynamic of the family a great deal and she has become the center of attention.

Also, Robyn offered to carry for Kody and Meri's baby via in vitro fertilization - an offer Meri turned down.

reply

Kody pressured Meri to make a decision about having another baby. She was not sure if she wanted to have another one, but later on in the season decided that she wanted to try for another baby. That is when Kody told her that he did not feel like having another child. Shortly thereafter, Robyn gets pregnant.

I think the consensus everywhere is that Robyn changed the dynamic in the Brown family, but some of what we see on the show is made up. Everything in your post is made up except Robyn getting pregnant.

reply

Actually, that is not what happened, as I recall. Meri and Cody were sitting on a rocky ledge. Cody asked Meri if she had made a decision. Meri, perhaps thinking she is smart, instead asks Cody what he wanted. And he got bluntly honest, as he does. He said it didn't matter, because he was going to have more kids with Robin, so he was going to have more kids one way or another. He then said it seemed like God didn't want them to have another child, because it would have happened already. But then he said he would support Meri if she really wanted invitro or using Robin as a surrogate. Meri then ran back to Robin and told her that Cody said no to more children with her (Meri), which was a complete lie. Now maybe Cody did say no and they edited it out, but that episode always pissed me off because Meri spun it to make herself look like the victim. I don't like Cody, but he didn't say no, at least not on what aired. As the show progressed, I've noticed that Meri has trouble taking accountability for hard/bad choices. And then she was catfished...

reply

I had the feeling Meri did want another baby. It seemed where she went wrong was in letting Kody answer first when they were sitting on that rock. She seemed to back down after he said he felt God would have given them another child if He felt it was meant to be. YMMV

Yes, I don't know what her issues are, but she definitely either doesn't know her own mind and feelings, or can't or won't express them clearly, or just expects people to read her mind. Just say the words!

yea.. If I remember right she even went to the doctor to see if she could since it hadn't worked for so long... Later Robyn said she would carry her baby, but by that point I think issues were already too much to agree to that.

I remembered Meri didn't want a kid by Robyn, because she said it wouldn't be any different than the ones she has now by the other sister wives.

However, she did "appear" as if she wanted children -- only hers and Kody's kid.

reply

Homewrecker?

Hardly. Meri is the one that courted Robyn and brought her into the family.

reply

If you watch the website from a psychological perspective, and I certainly have been binging over the past few weeks, you really can tell how twisted she is. Her fake tears when another wife does something nice for her. How she pretends that everyone should be equal, but it's so obvious she is slowly but surely getting Kody to be hers alone. It's actually quite obvious to see, maybe not if you watched it over the years. But when binging the show, the character traits of each wife becomes more apparent. I find Meri deeply troubled too - but Robyn is a snake.

reply

Can't stand Robyn but it has nothing to do with her being a home wrecker. It has to do with her being a self absorbed, passive aggressive person...

reply

I agree again. I think she is manipulating these other ladies who don't have much life experience... Robyn is getting everything while doing nothing and totally changing everything about the marriage. If Kody was to die she gets everything now as a legal wife. I think that is what she wanted. I don't trust her and I don't like her. Meri seems to have depression tendencies I think and likes to feel needed.

reply

I don't trust Robyn either. Just saying. . .

reply

Omg STFU

reply

You know I used to dislike Robyn because I thought there was something dishonest about her.

I kinda like her now because she seems to TRUELY (hehe) seems to care about the family.

She's a massive know it all but I think her intentions are genuine. So I don't think she is a homewrecker..

reply

I agree, Robyn's no homewrecker at all. She's remained democratic with the other wives. and has actually got good foresight. It was Robyn who first sensed Meri's struggle about the having-another-baby issue. Even after Robyn had a baby with Kody she's been keenly aware of the other wives' needs -- and is also sometimes showing signs of low self-esteem (she's still the "newest" wife). That was a few months after they married and the pregnancy issue came up. I grew up in a slaughterhouse of passive-aggressives [I got the hell away from all of them], and am hyper-vigilant about such personalities; none of the wives are passive-aggressive in the sense of 'personality disorder' -- sometimes their respect towards each others boundaries may give odd appearances. If you're like me, and not in an 'extended marriage', neither of us truly and fully understands what it's like; the dynamics are so different and have required years of love and balancing that took decades to achieve.

It's sad that this "catfish person" messed with Meri's head so badly that it's affected the family dynamic and made Meri more unsure, more unhappy than ever. Someone *knew* Meri was not in a condition for all the head-gaming they pulled on her; if you feel animosity towards anyone, it should be towards the catfish, not the family that the sick little catfish victimized.

The catfish was a woman pretending to be a man. This was a cold-hearted, methodical, planned attack on an entire family. If you don't like their extended marriage, you can change the channel, there's just no excuse for someone to commit a hate crime because their religious beliefs differ. That catb*tch had every intention of wrecking that family through that very space where Meri was not her usual self. Usually Meri was stronger and a good leader and worked well with everyone. I feel real empathy for their situation, as this sick, prolonged mental attack has sent ripples through the family.

She can be that way now, because she's the legal wife. Now, all of the pressure is off, and she can play nice.

reply

The other wives have all said Robyn is the peacemaker in the family.

reply

Of course, she is. She got what she wanted. There is no need to squabble over crumbs.

reply

They have said that from the beginning. We never really saw it, except maybe during Mariah's graduation when Meri had her meltdown. Plus they mentioned her change with this last pregnancy because she was such a bee-otch. I think the public perception of Robyn is way different than her real place in the family.

reply

I completely agree, and I honestly do not understand the Robin hate, and never have. From the beginning I always saw her as someone who truly loved Kody and wanted to fit in and get along with the family. I think she would be thrilled if she and the other wives were really close and hung out more as friends.

The other wives have mentioned how they admire her for her honesty and bluntness when dealing with Kody. She gives him what for and doesn't let him get away with crap.

How can she be a homewrecker when she was invited into the home? She's hardly a snake. I don't get the hate for her.

This whole "Robyn is a homewrecker" is so old it's got mold. Kody tried his damndest to get Meri to commit to having another baby, and it was Meri who decided she didn't want to; Robyn had nothing to do with it. And Kody has said he doesn't want to have anymore children, with anyone. Stop blaming Robyn for everything. It's just dumb.

reply

And Kody has said he doesn't want to have anymore children, with anyone.
And that's a very wise choice, IMHO.
