I don't trust Tony

He seems sneaky or something like that. I think Mykelti is in love with the idea of being in love and she won't be married to greasy boy for very long. I just don't trust him.

reply

I actually thought he was a little more likable this episode.

reply

A bit more likable? The greaseball has mad two extremely innapropriate and very uncomfortable jokes now about Kody's money (one in the first episode we saw him in I believe, now another while sitting down with Kody in the most recent one), AND blatantly said he could take out a loan against his house. Tf? The guy is anything but likeable. To top it off, his voice is like listening to someone talk when you know they need to clear their throat. It's horrid. Everything about him screams greasy, classless and immature.

reply

They both are emotionally immature. That's not a criticism - we all develop at a different rate. It bothered me that on their hike Tony never offered his hand when they were covering rough ground, the fallen tree, or through water. I see that as a lack of thinking of the other person. I don't think he has much experience with women.

reply

I noticed that he was always ahead of her, never waiting or offering a hand. That would've been my last date, to be honest. I think it truly is a reflection of his maturity level. Don't do it, Mykelti!!!

reply

Smarmy. He is smarmy. I don't trust him either.

reply

He has the strangest voice. He's gross, she could do so much better.

reply

Yeah...I don't get how, why or what she would be attracted to in him. She doesn't seem to be lacking that much self-esteem!? I don't get it!

reply

I think our little Tony is controlling and he's really running the show. I don't know if Mykelti lacks self-confidence, but she lacks direction and he's providing that.

reply

Agree on the lack of direction. Also think she's rebelling against her family a little and competing with Madison.

reply

She's so totally competing with Madison.

reply

I'm waiting for her to stand up and stomp her foot and yell "I deserve cocktail wieners wrapped in bacon too"! Definitely competing!!

reply

And how many of you argued with your parents over the date of your wedding BEFORE you were engaged? Everything they do seems childish and backward.

reply

I think Mykelti is using the wedding as a measuring stick for her worth with the family. She has been tweeting some very defensive comments and is coming across entitled but also needy.

reply

She blocked me on Twitter because I sent a tweet to Kody back during the "Sam" deal & asked him why he wasn't suing Jackie Overton. I wasn't even following her. Why was she reading Kody's tweets? It shows how involved they really are in social media. So, she's not my favorite, but I would like to see her tweets. I do follow her on Instagram and she posted a photo with a caption that wasn't too nice. She's probably stressed about the wedding.

reply

He voice is like a cartoon voice or like he's on helium. I noticed the same thing about the hike. He kept running ahead of her and never once helped her in the areas she was struggling in. My husband totally helps me even if it's completely flat terrain and I don't need help. I think he's in love with the idea of being on TV, he would be one of those guys looking for a spinoff of their marriage. I just don't like him and I think she can do WAAAAAAAAAAY better than this goofy cartoon greaseball!

reply

I noticed when those parts were showing the voice over was Kody saying Mykelti claims she feels safe with Tony. I kept thinking, making me climb up and over stuff w/o assistance wouldn't make me feel safe. It felt a purposeful choice.

reply

I don't get how he makes her feel safe, he showed 0 concern for her on those high rocks and I get that some people are independent but given that she smashed her face into a rock not long before filming this you would think he would want her to be careful. When I saw their hiking segments I kept thinking of those shows like Dateline where a killer husband shoves his wife down a rock ledge and claims it was an accident.

I don't know if Tony is a bad person but he definitely didn't care about keeping her safe in those moments.

reply

Is it wrong that your Dateline comment not only made me laugh, but I immediately thought that the Browns would probably enjoy the press? :-)

reply

Right Angie!! The "irony" of TLC's editing wasn't lost in me! SMH...I would have found it more amusing if she weren't hell-bent on marrying this Toad!

reply

Kody seems to set a great deal of stock that this boy is LDS who has been on a mission. The thing he needs to realize is this kid is a CONVERTED LDS who has not been brought up in the faith his whole life. He may be committed to LDS but he brings with him a whole range of other experiences (Catholicism for instance) and a Mexican family still practicing that religion.

reply

Excellent points! ?

reply

I don't want to be mean to anyone online, so I won't be ugly. But I don't trust him either. I agree that I think she wants so badly to be in love that she wants to marry a guy that she simply feels comfortable with. As Christine said, Mykelti isn't even herself when he's around. Red flag. I do t like that he childishly suggested Kody take out a loan for his wedding. If you're such a man and want this wedding to go your way, why don't you pay for it? This relationship seems so wrong to me. I hope she doesn't make a mistake she'll live with forever. Nothing like publicly being told "I told you so."

reply

Nothing like publicly being told "I told you so."
you mean like Mariah is doing to Meri?

Yes, actually.

reply

Why have we not seen anyone from Tony's family??! I really wonder if he disassociated himself from his large Mexican Catholic family when he converted. Did his mom or sisters attend Mykelti's bridal shower?

reply

I'm thinking it's the other way around. That they disassociated with him when he jumped ship. Catholics don't take well to losing members to Mormonism! It certainly goes both ways but I've seen the fallout 1st hand. In my friend's case it took years for her family to come around and her husband was a great catch, unlike smarmy, slug boy Tony!

reply

Tony's family had a shower for Mykelti about a week ago and yes there will be 400 people at the wedding - as Tony said, you get Mormons and Mexicans together and you've got a lot of people. But how can they know 400 people? I wonder how many people they would have at their wedding if Mykelti wasn't on TV?
