Maybe Maddie is having twins

shareShe looks pretty darn big for being 4 months along; that is more like a 5 month belly. But considering all the Brown women seem to put on middle weight during a pregnancy, that could be 90% water weight.
shareWhen they talk about losing weight on that show, I can never tell, except when Janelle lost all that weight. They kept talking about all the weight Maddie lost and you'd think I could recognize 20 lbs, but she didn't look that different to me. She looked awesome but she's the only older female in that family who has ever looked normal. Well, except Meri in the beginning and I always forget Robyn isn't fat. But sadly, Maddie is built like her mother, as is Savannah. They have some kind of build that has a tendency for a wall of fat from their boobs to their legs. I hope she loses her tummy afterward or she's destined to look like some variation of Janelle.
shareFor a first pregnancy she is big for dates, and showed very early. However most of the Brown girls have big bellies and could pass for being pregnant. Madison should be getting an ultrasound soon which may or may not be able to determine the sex of the baby.
shareI wonder if she's going the route of her mothers and has a midwife instead of a doctor and plans to have the baby at home. I really hope not.
shareFor a family that has their psychologist on speed dial, they don't seem to place medical care as a big priority. I am very much in favor of utilizing a midwife for prenatal care and birth, and even believe home birth is ok in the right situations with a properly trained professional. I wouldn't do it myself though. For some reason I don't think Robyn's midwife was certified and I don't think she had MD support.
shareI come from them thare city people and we have this tradition of having babies in hospitals with a doctor. It's way out there, but what can I say? We're weird.
shareConsidering their therapist thinks that stacking rocks on the beach in Galveston Bay is therapeutic, I think the only medicine they probably believe in is magic crystals and lots of vitamins.
shareIt's probably why the only things in Kody's journal are about Maddie's health - it would have been sweet to hear her first word, or how well she did in school, but all he wrote about was her health. Probably because he prayed every night none of the kids would get sick and he was lucky. I wonder what would have happened to Truely if her illness happened pre-show. At least he'll have something to say at her wedding.
shareI can just hear Kody at Truely's wedding: "Then there is the time I almost killed you because I refused to take you to the doctor."
If I remember correctly the reason that Maddie's appendix operation was such a crisis is that her appendix ruptured. You would think he would have thought of Maddie when his youngest daughter was tanking.
I don't think I knew that. Can't you die from a ruptured appendix?
shareYes
shareYes. That is why they try and remove the appendix before it ruptures. Otherwise it basically leaks toxins into your abdomen and can lead into your blood. Not always, but can lead to serious bacterial infections or toxic blood.
shareA ruptured appendix can be very serious and you can die if it isn't treated promptly. I wonder if they brushed off her symptoms appendicitis until it was critical? To be fair, my husband developed stomach pain while we were on a ski trip last year. It was atypical of an appendicitis and since we were up on the mountain somewhat far from a hospital in an unfamiliar area we delayed having him looked at. When it got so severe that I couldn't get him to walk to the car, we called an ambulance and many scary hours and two ambulance rides later he went into surgery. The surgeon told me afterwards that it was the largest appendix he had ever seen and was a miracle it didn't rupture. His appendix was not in the usual anatomical place, part of the reason his pain was atypical of appendicitis.
shareIs she due in May? Or have they not said?
Dexter: I would give everything to feel nothing again.
My money's on Maddie and Caleb having gotten married before last June in order for his mom to still be around and attend.
The June wedding was just for TV and family/friends that weren't invited to the first one.
Just my guess, I have no insider info.
So what is the theory? Maddie and Caleb and his family and all the Browns went to City Hall & got married? How would that have made his mom happy? Or is the theory they were planning 2 weddings simultaneously? Caleb's mother was just diagnosed late last year. I don't think they thought she was going to die within months of being diagnosed. I'm just trying to make sense of this theory that they got married before June and I can't find any.
shareI posted earlier about a friend of mine getting married in the hospital when her grandpa was taken ill.
Hey, if it had been me, I would have been happy to see my son married, no matter where or when.
Do things always have to make sense to others? I don't think so.
Anyway, call me wrong if you'd like. I don't claim to always be right, just throwing it out there. :) Isn't that what many posters do here?
Absolutely! And you aren't alone in your thinking. I posted similar after reading many comments in another board. Who knows, who cares, really, but it's fun to guess what the Brown's are hiding.
shareI know I'm like a dog with a bone on this subject, but why would they hide that? If they had a marriage ceremony for Caleb's mother that could have even been fake, that would be a sweet story to tell. I can also see where they would want it kept private. But implying they had another complete wedding is so questionable and weaving it in with Maddie being pregnant... Maddie would be having her baby about now if that were true.
