Janelle's speech at the wedding....

Janelle 's speech at Madison's wedding was disturbing- not only because it was a major downer for a young couple that actually may be in love and just beginning their lives together but also because it shows Janelle's mindset and her unhappiness with her stream of consciousness ramble.

Janelle has no idea what it feels like to meet your soulmate and be in love. The fact that her daughter may have, and all Janelle can advise is " just wait for it to all turn to S hit" is horrible and narcissistic...

I have to wonder if that was just a small part of her speech. This season she is being made to look like the evil parent, all through TLC's editing.

Her speech was totally cringe worthy to say the least. She obviously had nothing prepared and decided to wing it, then panicked and just projected her own horrible marriage all over everyone. She did a terrible job and I felt bad for Maddie.

It appears Maddie put a lot of thought, preparation and hard work into her wedding and Janelle and Kody did not. I still think Kody officiating was something TLC thought up but I'm sure Maddie thought Kody could do an OK job. Fooled her. Same with Janelle. Maybe the next 17 weddings will go better. Can't wait to see what happened at Mykelti's wedding.

Agreed! I'm sure they only had Kody officiate so TLC would pay for it. But seriously, these two couldn't plan what to say? They are her parents and couldn't put together some platitudes, some fond memories, show some love for their child? They both winged it and it looked bad.

Plus their excuse is that they never had a 'real wedding'. However, I bet they've been to other people's weddings. I've noticed that there are a lot of Sister Wives clips on YouTube now and I rewatched the clip of Kody and Christine at Mykelti's wedding and they look like someone dressed them. I hope that means they had a wedding planner. Mykelti looks really good in the clip too. From the little you can see, her dress looks similar to Maddie's, but it fits better and her make-up and hair look great. Unfortunately Tony still looks the same.
