Hurray for Nancy (the therapist)

Until last night's episode I questioned how effective of a therapist she actually was. Considering how long everyone has been seeing her, they don't seem to have evolved.

I loved when she confronted Kody and Meri about them making overtures when the cameras are rolling, but then never come back in to do the work in between filming sessions.

That is exactly what is going on with Meri and Janelle, as well.

Maybe now they will actually use the therapist for something meaningful, rather than as a filming opportunity.

Way to go Nancy.

Don't you think you should applaud the editors too?

reply

Oh definitely. I wonder if Nancy asked for a scene where she was more directive with them? I know if I was in Las Vegas and were shopping for a therapist, I sure wouldn't want to go to her because of what we have seen on the show.

reply

Do you think people, including the Browns, have input in that? If so, it's not a reality show anymore which is what I think anyway.

reply

That's interesting, because I think last season and this one so far have been the most "real" we've seen the Browns in some time. Hard truths are coming out and the family has no choice but to deal with them.

I found it interesting that although Kody says he wants Meri to forgive herself and really get past this whole catfishing debacle (and kudos to him for that), when they talked at the therapy session about how they really need to work at their relationship and repair it, Kody seemed very wary. I feel like he was showing how deeply he was hurt by the situation.

I thought the same thing during that. She called them out on their *beep* Why go to a therapist if you're not going to do the steps to make things better?? I agree that Meri and Kody and Meri and Janelle are not doing the work.

reply

Something that I noticed that wasn't at all surprising is how at the end of their session Kody walks out ahead of Meri. I notice things like that a lot! It seems that if he was a good father & man he would want a man to treat his daughters with more respect than that...but he sure rarely does. Maybe only with Robin.

reply

No kidding, that showed how boorish he can be. What an ego.
