Robyn actually gave her some excellent advise to not tell Mariah about the thoughts she was having about her being gay and she totally went and told them to Mariah anyway.

I don't think that Meri's reaction is that abnormal. She's a woman from a conservative religion trying to process what her daughter said. Parents go through a grieving process when their adapt new sexual identities or roles. All that stuff about weddings and children was Meri grieving the child she thought she had. But don't go freaking tell her all your crazy grieving thoughts when right now she needs total acceptance. Then Meri wonders why Mariah acts the way she does. I mean we all know Mariah witness the Catfish incident first hand and in her head her mom cheated on her dad. So she is trying to deal with that and Meri had such a great opportunity to get close to her again by being totally loving and accepting and she Blew it. Oh well.
