Their Religion and Homosexuality

I like it that the family was so accepting of Mariah but she said she struggled with her orientation because it was evil....so that makes me think that's what their religion teaches. I know Kody probably makes up his religion as he goes....but at one time Mariah must have been taught that being gay was wrong. Also, Janelle said it was interesting to see the choices the adult children were making....I hope she wasn't referring to Mariah. Being gay is NOT a choice.

Janelle may have been referring to the choice Mariah made to come out to the family (and our TVs). It was such a difficult choice to come out for many reasons and she did it! They are all proud of her (well, except for Meri- who was hard to watch).

I think it started out with some religion but once they got to Vegas it was gone. It was almost forced with what they had earlier too. I don't think any of this show is based on their religious beliefs anymore.

Much like Brady Williams of My Five Wives, polygamy for the Browns has become less about religion and more of a lifestyle.
Which is why none of their children have any interest in it anymore. They don't have a belief in the practice, and as a lifestyle it isn't ideal without a belief behind it.

I said I'd feed you...I didn't say who to.
