Does anyone else wonder if Tony is transgendered?

Don't be too hard on me for asking the question. I just get a vibe about him. I've seen a lot of transgendered people on Catfish, and Tony just reminds me of them. And if he's going through the medical process, it could explain his voice and no-so-great facial hair.

reply

No.

reply

I think Christine, Kody and particularly Mykelti would have a problem with that.

reply

Mykelti might or might not have a problem with it. Kids today don't look at it the same way older people do. Now Kody and Christine, on the other hand...I think they would have a problem with it, but they're under the pressure of being cool about it because they're on TLC, which promotes tolerance (at least a recent TLC commercial did), and because a while back they voiced their support for the LGBT community because they wanted similar acceptance for polygamy. AND, I can see TLC totally loving a storyline like that. Especially as a contrast between Tony and Caleb.

reply

Oh, I think Mykelti would have a problem with it if she doesn't know about it before she gets married. Plus that is something you can't hide even if you're not intimate. I was one who couldn't believe what happened to Meri, so it would be a kick in the pants if someone else conned the family again.

reply

I don't mean that he would be doing this deceptively without their knowledge, just not announcing it to the world. I can see Mykelti thinking it was cool, and Kody and Christine responding pretty much like they did about him.

reply

I do not see Mykelti thinking it was cool. Why would you think that?

reply

I don't know if you watch Below Deck, but one of the crew members announced that he was dating a transgendered girl (male to female conversion), and all the other crew members (young 20-30 somethings) were going out of their way to say how great it was and they supported them, and then when he proposed to her, they all were all happy and screaming and congratulatory. I think there is a bit of being afraid to NOT be supportive, like they'll be called out for being haters or transphobic, but it's also the way this world is evolving. Transgender is "normal" now. And like I mentioned before, they're the same way on Catfish. As far as Mykelti goes, I said she would probably think it was cool because I think she considers herself a trailblazer/rebel, and it would probably freak her parents out.

reply

Being supportive Of LBGTQ people and friends you have is totally different than the situation with Mykelti. You said Mykelti would think it was cool. Being transgender is not like having a tattoo. It's a serious life changing event. Mykelti is immature and obtuse, but I think she knows if she is attracted to a man or a woman and just for fun let's say Tony was transgender, he's pre-op because he works in a bank and he's 22. So it would be a huge deal if Mykelti didn't know. It has nothing to do with being cool, a rebel or a trailblazer.

reply

Okay cinles. You're right.

reply

There's no right or wrong - it's a serious issue and if you're going to get involved with someone who is transgender, you really need to date them for more than 5 months. So either he's all man which I suspect or Mykelti is in for a big surprise.

reply

So what you're spelling out is the way a normal, mature person should handle it. But we're talking about Mykelti, who has shown that she is immature, impulsive, and impatient. Also, I will say again, if he is transgendered, I don't think he's being deceptive. I think she knows. I just don't think she would take it as seriously and you or I might hope she would. That's all.

You mean if Tony dropped his pants and had a vagina instead of a penis, Mykelti wouldn't take it seriously? I can't even think of an emoji for this, but I wish there was one.

reply

Definitely no.

So he doesn't have great facial hair, I know a lot of Hispanic males that are in the same boat.

This is a young man that went on an LDS mission; I can tell you that would not have happened if he was transgendered.

reply

I wondered the same thing.

reply

Thanks terrybabe. I kept waiting for someone to post about it and was surprised that no one did. I guess we're in the minority.

reply

We have more in common than just our names!

reply

Yes, we have transgen-dar!

reply

Sorry, I get that that's a pun, call me obtuse, but I don't understand it.

reply

Well, back in the 90s, you were with it if you had gay-dar (like radar for detecting gay people)... Okay, I thought I was being funny...

reply

Told you I was obtuse!

Actually, that's good - and yes, the 90s are, literally, like yesterday to me. (Hey, you're talking to someone who, back in the day, had her hair permed a la Stevie Nicks - and loved it, I'm ashamed to say)

I will have to slip trangen-dar casually into my conversation to show how trendy I am.

What really made be wonder is because I am concurrently watching "Survivor" which has a possibly transgender person in it, and it made me look at Tony speculatively (actually, "Mistresses" also had a transgender actor in it this year: must be the "in" thing. Thinking more about it, "Modern Family" also had a transgender child).

reply

I too had the same thought about Tony! I have been very very close to someone who is/was transgender, born as a male, but wanted to be a female, I don't want to put the exact details of the relationship, but he was as close to as being a family member as you could be, and I still did not know for two years into knowing this person on such a personal level.
So, wandered off a bit there, I apologize. But he and Tony are so incredibly similar that I just am reminded of him each time I watch Tony on the show and I just have this feeling that transgender-ism (I know, not a real word) is something that they also share as a similarity with one another.
However, the main reason I am posting this is because I am dying to ask the poster above me--who do you think on Survivor is transgender?? It is my All time favourite reality TV show and I am just very curious as to who you think is. Also, is it just you who thinks this, or have their other tribe members mentioned it on the show as well?

reply

Zeke is supposed to be.

Look at the Survivor discussion board - there were a couple of threads about it a few week ago, but they may have disappeared by now. People even swore that they could see the scars where his breasts were remove (I couldn't, but I didn't really know specifically where the scars would be). There was even a link to a picture of him before he began transition, but it was a bit pointless because she was in a sheet draped Roman toga style, so it was completely androgynous. If there's nothing left on the Survivor board, I'm sure Survivor Sucks would have something about it, or probably a general Google search would bring something up.

Also, there was a transgender college student and his fiancee on "The Amazing Race" a couple of years ago, but unlike with Zeke, he, and the show, were reasonably open about it.

reply

I admit, when I first saw a picture of him I thought that he was a women who had manly features before I found out it was Mykelti's boyfriend.

reply

No, pre diabetic yeah
Transgender no

reply

Tony is awkward I think he is autistic. Something is up with him. I also think mykeltie has a learning disability based on how they keep trying to protect her and put her with support instead of letting her live her life like the other kids. She is very childish too
