This is the 5th board where I have registered, 4 of them created as IMDb clones. I haven't spent enough time on any of them yet to see which ones are easy to get around and read which is the first important thing, then the next important issue is if anybody will post. I'm sure people are creating these boards left and right, so where will everyone go?
shareWell, I dunno much about the other boards but the politics board is one of the busiest boards on imdb. We made the board to just keep everyone together until we can maybe find a new site to all go to.
Anyone is welcome though..since we are all tv/movie fans and share the same weird bond of being kicked off a beloved website.
How busy could a board be in a matter of days, especially when these boards are still up? The bottom line is there won't ever be message boards like IMDb because it's been around forever and people know they can come here and talk about any TV show, movie or someone in the entertainment industry, not to mention just get information. I'll probably check out all the boards I've heard of and see how much traffic there is and if I know anyone and post there.
shareI haven't loved any of the boards that I've seen so far. Just so much more difficult to find what you want, or it isn't there at all. If I have to spend more than a couple of minutes to find what I want I will not bother. I will keep checking out the boards that people find, but so far I'm not there yet. Too bad, I have enjoyed these posts.
While I am on the subject, can I just say I'm not buying that the reason these boards are shutting down is because of trolls and mean posts? Please, it is so much tamer here than on social media, that is why I like these boards. It is all about numbers.
Since they said they are going to have some other form of communication this year, it has nothing to do with trolls, it's all about the bottom line. I know it sounded like they were shutting the boards down for that reason in the first paragraph, but this from the last paragraph is the real story:
