Pro-conformity
I liked this movie a lot when it first came out, but watching it again, I had the same feeling I had when watching Christmas with the Kranks. While it was more subtle in this movie, it seemed that the movie was about how we should do what everyone else is doing, simply because everyone else is doing it. The two leads have a non-conformist idea, but when they try it out, they are shamed by the rest of the cast until they finally come around. Still like the movie, because I might be reading it wrong.
TL,DR Does this movie scold the idea of thinking outside the box?
