Cute Movie!
I can totally relate to this storyline and it's such a touchy subject to address! Finally someone talks about these somewhat awkward issues! Definitely a feel good movie.

Agreed, good film!
shareI feel like the issue of wanting to have kids before you're no longer able to is definitely brushed over in Hollywood. It's a shame since it is a choice that every single woman has to make at some point in her life. If she wants kids, then when? It's so difficult and I'm happy to see this interesting take that subject.
shareI'm so glad you said that! It's so true. This movie poses some thought provoking questions about relationships and how children add an unexpected stress to them. Very interesting.
shareLoved this movie. I'm a mother with another one on the way. I watched this movie with my girlfriends, one of which is trying to have kids. We watched this movie along with some other comedies and movies about parenting. We had a fabulous time laughing, crying, snacking, and adding our own commentaries. I think out of all the movies we watched that day, this one is our favorite. It was the most current, smart, had the best cast, and was the most truthful. Although the basis for the plot is unconventional, if two best friends were to have a baby together, (and believe me - this conversation has happened among best friends), this was an honest example of what would happen. Anyways, we enjoyed the storyline, the cast of characters are individually amazing and even better together. I thought the dialogue was interesting and funny. I’ve always thought Jennifer Westfeldt was delightful. This movie made me think of her as SuperWoman. She is brilliant for creating this film, uniting this cast, and starring superbly in it. She gave us something to think about, something to discuss, laugh, cry, hope, and value our friendships and family. This is certainly a movie to keep in my collection.
shareI'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it too! I feel like this is one of the most underrated films about parenting. I also have to call out Jennifer's incredible performance! WOW, she blew me away and I LOVED her character. I could totally imagine myself having the same reactions as she did as Julie. There were so many good roles in the film. Maya Rudolph, Kristin Wiig, Jon Hamm, and Chris O’Dawd were awesome as the best friends. It was great to compare and see how their different relationships/families support the main story. It was full of fun, romance, and family and the babies were absolutely adorable! Haha
shareI'm neither a female nor a parent but I agree with this thread. I enjoyed the 'real life' quality of this cute story. Stories like 'Friends With Kids' exist in real life but we don't see much of it in Hollywood comedies. I'm happy to see that the industry is open to the talents of Jennifer Westfeldt. Not only is she a great actress but her content is unique, fresh, real, and challenging and I think it's just what our society needs. What the industry needs is more empowering and creative talents like Jennifer.
shareThat's excellent!
shareDefinitely! It's one of my favorite rom-coms.
