Real Friends

Hey... just read a couple of these first threads and wanted to voice my opinion about the ending.
Honestly, I'm not sure if people are just making stuff up to say something bad about the movie but I guess the ending is an easy one to pick on. It strikes a cord, it's blatant, and it's real. But so are REAL friends.

What I loved about this movie was that it was so close to real life. Life is meant to be uncomfortable, awkward, passionate, funny, enigmatic, and this movie was full of all that and more. This movie shares the journey of friends through life decision, life changes, relationships, and having kids. Mainly it's about a modern couple and how they go against the grain of society's traditional norms and it's done in a very believable way. The view of different relationships was all too common to me and the dialogue between friends was genuine. I felt like I know these characters in real life. This is how me and my friends behave and talk to each other at home. We curse and we are brutal. We have the most hilarious time and everything is 'OK' with your friends. You can fight and bicker all day but in the end you can't help but forgive someone you know so well.

As for the ending line, it makes sense. It demonstrates their passion for each other. They were already best friends with a kid but unlike the stories of their other friends (whose relationship was based more on lust), they have a solid foundation of trust, love, and respect to work through the tough situations. It was REAL, to the point, and we know what happens after, so I thought it was perfect - and I appreciated that. It was a real depiction of love and it's many layers.

It was great because it was real life. For me, it was the most current, intelligent, and honest film I've seen in a long time, in the romantic comedy genre. I really enjoyed this cast too, who were fun, funny, versatile, and acted like real friends. I thought their interactions were great as well as the dialogue which was very witty and real. If two friends were to have a baby, I think this is what would really happen. Jennifer as Julie was lovable. She was a great girl and I saw eye to eye with her feelings and choices. She had some heartbreaking scenes too that left me in tears. Her and the character Jason were great together and I loved their relationship. I thought they had a beautiful story and I agree, their story and the characters themselves were REAL and appreciated.

Thank goodness for these real life comedies! I loved this movie and always love to put it on when friends are over and were looking for something easy, fun, and thoughtful to watch. Friends With Kids is smart, moving, funny, and the cast was so enjoyable, and Jennifer is a wonderful talent. I was amazed to discover that she self produced, wrote, directed, as well as starring in this film. I mean, how does this lady do it?! I really appreciated this story too. The conversations between friends were so honest and their relationships were beautiful, hardships and all. This is a film to get you thinking and you and your friends talking. Love that this is a comedy to make you think and laugh at real life.

You should watch Ira & Abby and Kissing Jessica Stein too. KSJ was her first film. I don't know how she does it... she's amazing! I think she has a great style unique to her character and personal experiences. You can see in the movies that she is a really great person and no doubt would be a good friend. She helps a lot of people in the industry.

2 cute 2 listen!
