Huh?
Removing testicles when it's the prostate that's cancerous?
What the doctor probably meant was they have to now remove his prostate altogether because the implants (which are small stick like things that provide cancer killing onsite effects near the prostate) had failed. These implants are always the first line of defense, to try to save the prostate from being removed, because that then causes impotence.
Now the implants have not been effective and the cancer has gone too far for chemo either.
So his prostate is going to be removed--which would be why he would not be "manly" because without a prostate you cannot achieve an erection or can you ejaculate.
It probably had nothing to do with his testicles. It's the prostate removal that will cause his impotence.
